My Story

Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.

For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.

Speaking of the people I love, I have been married to my darling husband, Doug,  for almost 30 years, and we have three grown children and a wonderful son-in-law.  Today we all celebrated the 20th birthday of our youngest one.  Ribs, wings, potato salad, and strawberry shortcake for dessert - how yummy is that!  Our girls took plenty of pics - can’t wait to scrapbook them.  I love scrapbooking almost as much as I love making cards.  And of course, the nicest part about my Stampin’ Up business is that I get to do both...and I get to do it with family and friends.

I would love to meet you and introduce you to the wonderful world of stamping and scrapbooking.  Or, if you are someone who already loves this pastime as much as I do, I would be happy to exchange ideas with you and provide you with all that you need from Stampin' Up!'s  wonderful line of superior quality products.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Oops!  I just read my story to myself and realized it's more than a little dated!  For sentimental reasons, I'm leaving it there...that birthday of Stephen's was the first day I set up my Stampin' Up! Website and I haven't looked back since!

However, a lot has happened since then.  I've made many new friends through this wonderful business.  As well, I've deepened relationships with family and friends through stamping and scrapbooking together.  There have been many occasions when we have gathered together to create cards, scrapbook pages, festive favors and precious memories.

In addition to that, on April 21, 2009, Doug and I celebrated 30 years of marriage...and continued to celebrate all year long!!!  It culminated with a beautiful trip to Mexico in December that I will never forget.  Again, lots of gorgeous pics to scrapbook!

Our darling grandson - Noah Avison Stoner was born on March 23, 2009, to Michael and Amanda.  Next month he turns one year old.  And what a birthday present his parents are giving him...he has a little brother on the way who is due to arrive  sometime around June 10...my birthday!  Doug and I absolutely love being Noah's grandparents and look forward to the arrival of his little brother.  I had so much fun scrapbooking some of the precious moments in Noah's life up 'til now and I'm already working on a little scrapbook for his baby brother.

In the fall, a wonderful young man, Matthew John Hoevenaars exchanged wedding vows with our daughter, Laura Elizabeth on October 3, 2009.   We welcome our new son-in-love to the family!  And again, what can I say...it was so much fun watching Laura create her wedding invitations, her programs, her favors, her thank you cards and being involved in shower invites that all included Stampin' Up! products...such lovely creations...and still looking forward to scrapbooking her special day!

Stephen continues to study at University of Waterloo, and whenever he can, he squeezes in some flying lessons - he'd love to get his pilot's license eventually.  And, of course, I took pictures of Stephen (while still on the ground and in the airplane right up until he flew out of sight...)  Yes, he did come back, thankfully!

Hope I don't wait as long to post another update.  But 'til then, happy stampin'!

Well, it's September 1, 2010 and here's another entry in My Story!

Since Laura recently completed her academic studies, we had a memorable celebration on the evening of her commencement.  How exciting it was to watch her as she crossed the stage to receive her diploma and following that, not one, not two, but three official documents outlining her accomplishments.  Yes,  the photo opportunity was irresistable, providing lots of pictures just perfect for scrapbooking!  Since that evening, she has set up two websites in order to let people know about the Piano Lessons and Tutoring she offers in her home.  In case anyone would like to visit these websites, here are the two links.  Laura loves to use Stampin' Up! products and I'm always on the lookout for stamp sets for her to use on her teaching handouts and musical notes!

As well, Michael and Amanda added a darling little son to their growing family - Cole Paxton Stoner, early in the morning on Monday, May 4, 2010.  Talk about an exciting arrival into our world!  He truly is a little miracle...a beautiful, smiling baby boy.  You can see several gorgeous pictures of this fine little man, along with his mom and dad, under the Creative Projects portion of my website as I made a special little scrapbook for him, all about him, when he was born.  And just a little earlier in the year, March 23rd, to be exact, we all celebrated Noah's first birthday.  That, of course, created the need for yet another little scrapbook!   I absolutely love to make the 6 x 6" scrapbooks up for events such as birthday parties like Noah's.  Ahh - I do so love being a Stampingran!  It's the life, it is!

Well, bye for now.
