My Story

Let's Create Together!

Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.

For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.

Let's Create Together!

Shall I tell you ALL ABOUT ME ... at least I'll share a little.

I am a daughter.
My parents were definitely filled with a love of "All the Arts" and helped instill in me the same love. My sister and brother studied music as well, so our home was always filled with songs and laughter. Especially when extended families & friends came to visit.

I am an artist.
As a child, my mother was a china painter and loved teaching everyone, in home or at school. I used to watch her paint and soon started to try painting myself while she was teaching classes outside the home. I'd have 10-12 pieces of china painted items when she'd get home. They weren't always beautiful, but I thought they were. She always picked one or two to fire in the kiln. I loved painting from the start! I thank Mom daily for the gift and love of art, especially, all that she taught me.

I am a musician. I can thank my father for this gift. He was always singing in his wonderful deep base voice and played the piano "by ear". I studied voice, violin, guitar, and piano as I grew up. I couldn't have made my dad happier.

I am a retired teacher.
After graduating high school in 1960, I studied music in college and graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Music Education. I received my Masters of Arts with "Classroom Teaching" being my main interest in 1971. I taught elementary school for 35 years and used music and art in ALL the grades that I taught.

I am a mother.  I married in 1967 and I was blessed to have three wonderful children, Anne, Brian, and Christopher. They are all adults at this time.  I was thrilled when my daughter, joined my team in 2009. Do you live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Michigan area? If so, send me a message and I’ll send her phone number to you.

I am a wife. Five years after my first marriage ended, I was blessed by marrying my present husband Ken. We met at the right time in my life and filled it with love and lots of laughter. We married in 2002 and moved north to Indian River, MI soon after.

I am a Stamper! In 2006, I went to my first workshop not knowing what Stampin' Up! was about. I couldn't help but think that my mom would be so disappointed that I was "Stamping" instead of painting directly on paper. But, I continued, and went to another workshop and another, and another...soon I thought how ridiculous it was for me not to become a demonstrator. I taught all my life...so why not now in my retired years? So, in September of 2007, I became a demonstrator. I was a hobbyist for about a year and then started inspiring others through workshops and clubs. I love Stampin' Up! I have attended two conventions and one regional and plan to go this year as well. I just can't get enough and my craft room proves it. I can sit here by myself or invite someone to join me...so wonderful.

I am a Christian. My husband and I joined the IRUMC a year after moving north. I am so filled with love for all the church. I am presently Choir Director after having been in charge of the PowerPoint and Bulletin creations. I am so thankful to my God, my church family and friends making the north my home! God is first in my life, family, I bet you can guess what follows!!! Description: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/javascript/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif

Won't you join me in my class/craft room...to enjoy creating as I try to inspire and share with you? It's easy and fun...and yes, it's ART!!!!
