Seven years ago I reluctantly said yes & attended an in home rubber stamp workshop. I was not a scrapbooker and I did not make cards but my friend assured me that I would have fun and to please come. That night I was in awe as I watched a Demonstrator teach the art of rubber stamping. It was amazing to see what she did with a rubber stamp, ink pad and cardstock. Before the night ended we all got to make a card. (I still have that first card!) I also got to order some rubber stamps & supplies, book a party and take home a Stampin’ Up! Ideabook and Catalog. I couldn’t get enough and within 2 weeks I wanted it all. I decided I would sign up to be a "hobby demonstrator" for a year. I would get everything I wanted at a discount and then let my demonstratorship expire. I only needed to buy $300.00 in the first 6 months, and I knew I could manage that.
That first week after receiving my kit, I made cards, favors, small gifts and was showing & giving them to friends & family. Immediately my sister Charlotte and my good friend Daun both wanted me to do an in home workshop for them. I had been a teacher most of my adult life and at that time I was teaching pre K, how hard could it be to teach adults. I said yes and the last 7 years is now history, or should I say memories, and yes, I am now a scrapbooker!
Stampin’ Up! has given me the chance to travel to Denver, CO, Orlando, FL, Houston, TX, Atlantic City, NJ, Providence, RI, and Salt Lake City, UT on 2 occasions and a few other not so far away cities. On several occasions I’ve taken my husband and this past year took my daughter, Laura, to Salt Lake.
Last year my husband Ted & I enjoyed an all expense paid 9 day cruise for two, to the Panama Canal, all compliments of Stampin’ UP! This past summer I also reached a milestone award with the company and was given a $1000.00 check. Can you guess what I spent that on?
If you’re looking for a fun hobby, or a way to preserve your memories, maybe just a fun time with other ladies making gifts & cards for your family and friends, please call me. You will not be disappointed.
