Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is a dream come true. Not only do I get the opportunity to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my friends and customers.
For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink — it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.
How did I get here? ~ It all began in 2005 shortly after I started a new job at a law firm in downtown Dallas. It was my first "large firm" experience and I was slow at making new friends. One of the other secretaries invited me to her home for a "Stampin' Up!" workshop. I had no idea what she was talking about but felt this would be a good opportunity to meet some of my co-workers and perhaps make new friends.
I enjoyed the commaraderie and getting to learn a little about everyone at the workshop as we introduced ourselves and before too long it was time to sit down and create a card. I was so taken in by the process that I elected to not make the project but instead watched all of the other guests as they created their masterpieces. I picked up the catalog and wanted nearly everything it contained and came very close to joining as a demonstrator that very night, never having even created a single card. Instead, I ordered a few essentials and so began my obsession with creating hand-made cards.
After being a dedicated Stampin' Up! customer for nearly five years, I decided that I wanted to become a demonstrator and did so in July of 2009.
I attended my very first Convention in 2010 and was rendered nearly speechless by the wonder of it all.
