Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.
For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.
Many years ago (I can't remember how many) my friend Melissa introduced me to stamping. I've always loved being creative, but could never draw. When Melissa showed me how easy stamping is with just a few items, I was hooked! I immediately placed an order for a stamp set, one stamp pad and chalks. And yes, of course, they were all from Stampin' Up!
That was only the beginning! Over the next few years I went to workshops and even joined a rotating hostess club with my neighbor Cindy. I would take my creations to work and show them off to my friends there. One actually told me she was a demonstrator for another stamping company. Not realizing there was a significant difference between Stampin' Up! and this other company, I placed an order (more to support my friend). I was a bit dissapointed at the lack of quality that this company offered. I put the stamp set away and haven't used it since.
Fast forward to 2005. Melissa had invited me to a stamp camp held by her friend Shaleen. I had never seen so many stampers in one place and the projects were absolutely incredible! After chatting with Shaleen about her events I signed up for her next class, then her next one... and so on. She was so talented and each project more beautiful than the last. What an inspiration! I wanted to do what Shaleen did! So I signed up!
I have been a demonstrator with Stampin' Up! for eight years. Although I joined as a hobby to enjoy the discount and other perks, I decided in 2010 to start offering classes. Cindy was my first hostess and she introduced me to a new group of wonderful ladies... one of whom decided she wanted the Stampin' Up! discount and signed up. I welcomed Sandra as my first team member!
They say everything comes full circle... my friend Melissa, who introduced me to Stampin' Up! so many years ago, decided to join my team in 2011! I now have a team of talented ladies as a part of my Gettin' Fancy with Ink and Paper group. What a blessing to be surrounded by such amazing women who share my passion, and who inspire and share their creativity with each other!
Won't you join us and be inspired as much as I am?
