Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.
For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.
I started Stamping about 20 years ago. Stampin' Up! was brand new and I still have that original catalog!
My first experience though was at a friends house. Her daughter came home with a stamp and some embossing powder and some pigment ink. She stamped a small iris (my favorite flower) on a piece of stationery, sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and then heated it over the electric range element. When I saw that powder turn to Gold I was Hooked!
I promptly went down to the local 'new' stamp store and was overwhelmed by all the stamps there. I bought an Iris stamp and a teddy bear and a runny babbit and all the stuff to make it turn Gold!
My problem was, in the beginning, I kept buying stamps I loved but nothing went together. Also, the markers and card stock never matched and everything turned out slightly off color.
Finally, Tiffany invited me to a Stampin' Up! class and I found what I was looking for! The paper, markers, stamp pads all matched AND the markers and stamp pads were all refillable! Best of all, the stamps came in sets that coordinated together and were much less expensive than buying them individually!
It took Tiffany several years to finally talk me into becoming a demonstrator and getting my own discount on all the wonderful stamps I was buying and in 2006 I finally gave in!
What in the world took me so long? The doors opened up and Now I have unlimited resources to learn so much about stamping that I have to share it all or I will burst.
