My Story

Several years ago I became an avid scrapbooker.  During those years I experimented in a number of techniques, and turned to stamping as another weapon in my arsenal.  As my scrapping evolved, I also became interested in making my own cards.  Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.  I love using my teaching background helping others foster their own creativity.

For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world.  Creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.  They truly are gifts that are as individual as you... and they come from the heart!

INTERESTS: I am a dog fanatic! I share my home with four fabulous Boxer dogs, Muffy, Brody, Lexi and Jackie, who are often featured on my blog, The Stampin' Schach. I also love watching old movies, especially while I create.

HOBBIES:  Showing dogs are the hobbies "du joir".  I am a long-time collector of vintage Fiesta ware, and sold it nationwide before I retired from owning my own antique shop several years ago.

FAMILY:  I am married to my best friend, Kim, who retired in 2015 from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe RR.  He now helps me with some of my stampin' tasks. We have one son, Brady, who resides in Seattle, WA with our sweet adorable Boxer baby, Kia.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: I taught science in a small high school in southeast Iowa for 34 years before retiring in June, 2010.  I taught the subjects of Anatomy, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.  I was as passionate about my teaching as I am about cardmaking and Stampin' Up! I am a Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Alum, and an alum of The Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts challenges. I currently participate on the Stamp Review Crew and On the CASE with Ann and Nicole.
