SUO Challenge - It's a Kid Thing

Hello there!  Welcome to this week's SUO Challenge.  This time we are creating cards for babies or kids.  I actually created this card for my August Cute Cards Quick and since it was a masculine theme I thoght this one would be perfect for one of the little fellas in my my life who will be having birthdays this fall.  So, I thougth I would take care of two birds, or is it bunnies in this case with one stone!  LOL

I really love this little guy.  There are SO many cute options with the Best Bunny stamp set and Bunny Builder Punch.  And even better you get a 10% discount if you buy the bundle!  Who doesn't love that!  When I was making this card I cased a sample from the Annual Catalog.  I loved the colors and the bunny popping out of the top hat, but didn't want to have to fussy cut, so decided to go with the whole bunny then add my own touches by changing up the accessories and making the whole card a little wonky instead of all straight.

Here are a couple of details so you can create this card on your own, but if you have questions please contact me.  I am always happy to help with any crafty project!

The measuremens for this card are:

  • Daffodil Delight 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Smoky Slate 3 1/2 x 4 1/2
  • Shimmery White 3 x 4
  • Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine 10 1/2 inches.
Then I just used scraps of Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White for the bunny, circles for the greeting and the little bit of label under the bunny.

I textured the cardbase and the Smoky Slate layer with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF.  I didn't spritz them with water, but I did run them through the Big Shot twice.

I created the background behind my bunny by using an Aqua Painter and the yellow Brusho on Shimmery White cardstock.  If you haven't dont be intimidated.  It really is easy.  Just shake a little Brusho onto a clear block (I like to use the ones for the Paper Pumpkin kits for this!) then use the Aqua Painter to pick up fhe powder and just start applying it to the Shimmery cardstock until you have desired effect.  Remember, they never turn out exactly alike and that is a good thing!

I assembled my bunny using a Dimensionals between his head and body then then one between his bum and cottontail.then added a couple more Dimensionals to attach the bunny to the card.

Fold your Baker's Twine into three equal protions, then attach to the back of the Whisper White circle.  Attach the White circle to the Daffodil circle with more Dimensionals.  Attach this to your card then snip the lops of your Baker's Twine.  My group decided this make the twine look like bunny whiskers.

I did use Blends to color my bunny.  Remember to stamp any images you are coloring with the Memento stamp pad.

Thank you for taking a minute to
