Remarkable Stampers June Blog Tour It's ALL About the New!

The new Catalog is here and like you I love it!  So many new colors, stamp sets, accessories and ideas! I know you have already seen lots of wonderful ideas as you have visited everyone's blogs this month! I can't wait to see all of them myself!

For my project this month I decided to create a girly birthday card that is ALL about pink and purple!  I started out my project by creating my own swirly paper with the Swirly Bird stamp set.  I used a technique that was featured at OnStage in April called Orange Peel.  Here are all the details:

  1. Cut a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Mine is 2 1/2 x 4
  2. Stamp your image or images in Classic Ink.  I worked from lightest to darkest; Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum, Melon Mambo and finally Pear Pizzazz.
  3. Next I used a Stampin' Spritzer filled with water and liberally sprayed my Watercolor Paper .  You want the ink to run a bit.
  4. Working pretty quickly I covered my paper with Clear Embossing Powder and then used the heat tool to set it.  This takes a bit.  Be patient.  Your project will have a very subtle shine when it is ready.
After creating my swirly paper I used the Big Shot and Swirly Scribbles Thinlints to make my swirly flowers, then I cut the rest of my layering pieces.  Here are all the measurements for this project:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base  cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score at 4 1/4.
Pop of Pink DSP  2 x 3
Sweet Sugar Plum 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

I just stamped my Happy Birthday greeting on a scrap of Whisper White and then I stapled my Gold Sequin Trim and Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine bow into this piece.

Now I just assembled my card.

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share my project with you!  Please let me know if you have questions or would like to order any of the products shown here.  I would love to help you create this or any other project on which you are working!

The next stop on the tour is Ann Matasci's blog.  I know she has created something fabulus again this month!  Enjoy the rest of the tour and I will see you next month!

Happy Stamping!
