NC Demos August Blog Hop - Celebrating the USA with Glitter, Shine & Fireworks

Good evening and welcome to the August edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop! If you stopped by Jo Anne Hewins’ post already you know that this month is all about sparkle and bling. It just so happens that this corresponded with the month’s sampler my regular group of sampler makers. They decided that they wanted a celebrate the USA sampler. What better opportunity is there to use lots of sparkle and shine than to celebrate all the fabulous summer events and are amazing country! So I created a sampler to help celebrate everything from Flag Day to the 4th of July as well as Memorial Day and Labor Day!
Before I show you my project I wanted to share a couple of the fun photos of part of my group making their samplers last Sunday. We had a blast, but it was definitely organized chaos as seems to be par for the course while making samplers. There is just so much that goes into each little square which means there is always paper, ink and tools everywhere! And in the case of my group our water bottles, snacks and other beverages that seem to always end up on the table while we craft and in last weeks case listen to some great 80’s music.

I do need to admit that I did not come up with this particular sampler all on my own. I got a lot of inspiration and cased other samplers and projects on Pinterest. The other thing I need to let you know is that I did something on this particular project that I rarely if ever do on something that I am sharing with my customers. I did use retired products. There is not a current Stampin Up! star punch or framelit so I used a mini star punch from many years ago as well as the star framelit from the Mini Treat Bag Flamelits.  So, my advice is to use your favorite star punches and framelits for this project.

Just in case you are concerned I am not leaving my sampler outside, but couldn't resist pairing it with the little piece of the pool deck that celebrates the USA all summer long just for this photo!  And yes, I have straightened up the 6th square.  It needed a little more Multipurpose Glue and I didn't notice until I had already taken all the picutres.

When I shared previous samplers may of you have asked for the measurements, so here are the basic measurements for this one:
Real Red 12 x 12
Whisper White 11 x 11
Night of Navy 10 ¾ x 10 ¾
9 Real Red Squares 3 ¼ x 3 ¼.  These are all textured with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF.
The next layer of nine squares are 3 x 3 and if there Is an additional layer over that the like on the seventh and ninth square the top layer is 2 ¾ x 2 ¾ .
Thank you for letting me share my shiny sparkly project with you I hope I have inspired you to use a little extra bling on your next project. If you have any questions or need help creating your own sampler I would be happy to help you. Just contact me!
I am done for this week but will look forward to seeing you the last Sunday in September for our next blog hop. Don't forget to pop in and see all the shiny pretty projects the other NC Demos have created this month starting with Sue Root.  I know you are going to love them!
Happy Stamping!

Samplers are so much fun. I haven't made one in a long time. Love the pics of your stampers. They are having a blast. Great project!

Tracie, I love your sampler. It has been a long time since I made a sampler and probably don't know where my directions are so thanks for those too.
