One Last Day to Sale-A-Brate with Avant Garden

I think each year that the SAB products for that year are my most favorites ever and then a new year comes and I find I love the new ones as much or more then those from the previous year.  Then there are those sets and products that I don't love until I see something made with them and they become one of my all time favorites.  That is definitely the case with the Avant Garden set.  It is one of the last things I got and maybe my total favorite.  I am really going to miss all the possibilities these little flowers have to offer.

The card I am sharing today was a total case from Beverlee Morales.  The entire card was stamped with only the flower bouquet stamp from Avant Garden in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  My Terrific Techies made it last night and we all agreed that we loved it and how easy it was to make.  What could be better than a card with a vintage feel that is elegant AND easy to create!  That is a win, win in my book!

So, if you are like me and put off getting this lovely stamp set for FREE don't wait!  Call or email me your $50 order (before tax & shipping) before Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow and you miss your opportunity!

I  hope you have a wonderful and creative day!

Happy Stamping!

NC Demos March Blog Hop - Bring on Spring!

Good evening!  !  If you are just joining the March Blog Hop welcome and thanks for stopping by to see all the amazing projects our group is creating to celebrate the arrival of spring!   Personally, winter is never over too soon and I am looking forward to sunny days spent outside on my deck reading, grilling yummy food and hanging out with friends.

I was lucky enough to spend this weekend co-hosting my first Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway with an amazing group of ladies stamping, scrapping, chatting, snacking and enjoyed the fabulous views of the beach.  Okay, we may have also enjoyed a few margaritas an a little Prosecco.  I also got to see my brother and sister-in-law and the nieces!  What a great way to kick off the first weekend of spring!

So, my card was inspired by a few things this month.  First, it was a card I saw on Facebook from a fellow demo using the Dynamic Hexagons TIEF and Dragonfly Dreams that is SO perfect for spring and summer card giving.  Second, I wanted to use some of my fabulous Sale-A-Bration products before SAB ends this Friday, March 31st and I already had the sparkly Bermuda Bay dragonfly cut, so he had to be used!  Lastly, one of the color combos I am a bit obsessed with right now is Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise.

So, now to the business of actually making the card.  Here are my basic measurements:

  • Bermuda Bay base cut 5 ½ x 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼
  • Rich Razzleberry 4 x 5 ¼
  • Inside the Lines DSP 3 ¾ x 5

Once I had all of my paper cut I sponged the Inside the Lines DSP starting at the edges with Rich Razzleberry, then Tempting Turquoise and finally with the Bermuda Bay.  I then ran the sponged piece of DSP through the Big Shot with the Dynamic Hexagons TIEF.  I did NOT spritz the paper with water as I didn’t have a lot of time for it to dry.

At this point I assembled my card using Fast Fuse between the Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry piece and Stampin’ Dimensionals between the Rich Razzleberry and sponged piece of Inside the Lines DSP.

At this point I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do about a greeting and the placement of the dragonfly, so I asked for the opinions of my fellow stampers and played around with a couple of ideas before settling on stamping the greeting in Rich Razzleberry an then cutting it out with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  I then added a little Fast Fuse to the back of my oval to attach some Metallic Silver Thread.  I put a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of my oval and attached it to my DSP.  And last, but not least, I added the SAB Glimmer Paper dragonfly using Multipurpose Glue to create my springy dragonfly card.  Now to just wait for the perfect day to sit on my deck and spot the real thing!

Thank you again for popping by my blog.  I am finished for this month, but you aren’t!  I know that
Sharon Maranich  has made something fantastic to share with you!
Hope you have a wonderful week and have time for some stamping time of your own as well as a chance to enjoy some beautiful spring weather.

Happy Spring and Happy Stamping!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 235 - A Tuscan Vineyard Thank You

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share my card for this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  Like many of you I seem to never have enough time to do all the things I want to accomplish in a day and I never seem to find all the time I want to stamp and make cards.  So, I love it when I see a sketch or have an idea that comes together so easily.

I find that I am using a lot of designer series paper  lately.  First, I have a lot of it that I want to use before it retires at the end of May and second, it really gives your cards that extra little something without all that extra work.  In my book that is a win, win!

So, this week my card started off with the Floral Bouquet DSP and matching washi tape.  I had made a card using it and the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set a couple of weeks ago and the stamp set was still out so it seemed like fate that I should pair them up again.

To make things easier to line up I cut a piece of 4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock to back my DSP.  Next, I added my washi tape and Happy Birthday greeting.   I then put a little Fast Fuse on the back of the Whisper White piece using it to anchor the Night of Navy Baker's Twine.  Finally, I put Stampin' Dimesionals to the back of the Whisper White cardstock and attached it to my Whisper White cardbase.

Now it was time to stamp my focal point with the lovely vineyard stamp from the Tuscan Vineyard set using Night of Navy Classic ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I then cut it and a piece of Night of Navy cardstock using my Big Shot and the Layering Ovals Framelits.  I used Fast Fuse to adhere my vineyard oval to the Night of Navy oval and attached it to my pretty card front with Dimensionals.  My final touch was to add the White Perfect Accents.

I am done sharing my project for the week, but there are lots more to see on the Paper Craft Crew page. Go take a look and then add your card inspired by this week's sketch!

Thank you again for letting me share my Tuscan Vineyard card.  If you have questions please let me know. I would love to help you create your own cards or other projects with these or any of the other wonderful Stampin' Up! products!

Happy Stamping!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 234 - Sale-A-Brate with Avant Garden

It's March which means it is my birthday month AND Spring will be here soon!  So this week my card for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge is a bright and cheery card perfect for a Spring birthday!

I have to say that the Avant Garden stamp set is one of the last Sale-A-Bration sets I ordered.  Like some of you I thought, "Oh, I have SO many flower sets, so I don't need that."  Well, I was SOOO wrong!  I love this set and am going to be so sad when SAB is over at the end of this month and I won't be using it since I can't make sure it is something my customers can still get for their own collection.  I guess that means I had better use it a lot before March 31st!

So, I did start with the Avant Garden stamp set.  I then went to my DSP paper keeper and pulled out a scrap of the Rich Razzleberry DSP from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack that I had cut for a friend's daughter's birthday party, but not used a couple of weeks ago.  I also cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4 x 5 1/4.  Next, I stamped my three Crushed Curry flowers.  I stamped the middle flower with full ink, then stamped the one on the left without re-inking.  Fort the flower on the left, I inked then did soft tap onto scrap paper before I stamped it onto my project.  I finished my flowers by adding in the stems, leaves in Old Olive and finally added my stamens in Rich Razzleberry.

Now I stopped to decide where to go next.  Did I mention that I was chatting with my friend, Shelly, while I was working on this card on Tuesday evening?  She loves purple, so that might have have influenced my color choices for this project.  She also helped me decide that Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz were the best colors to use for the pennants on the upper left of the card.   Stamping wtih a friend is just the best.  Don't you think?

Okay, to get back to making the card.  Once I made my pennants using the Banner Tripe Punch and the Woodgrain TIEF I was ready to start putting my card together.  I first attached the Rich Razzleberry DSP to the stamped flower piece with Fast Fuse, then wrapped it with my Crushed Curry Baker's Twine.  I then attached this to my Rich Razzleberry cardbase with Stampin' Dimesionals.  I then added my pennants with a little Fast Fuse. Finally, I added my birthday greeting accessorized with that cute little white paper clip with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Now, all I have to do is decide which one of my amazing friends will get this card for their birthday!

Have you been inspired by this week's sketch?  If so, please share it with us on the Paper Craft Crew page. We would love to see what you have created!

Thank you for letting me share my card with you this week.  If you would like to add the Avant Garden stamp set to your collection contact me today and you too can get it for FREE with your Sale-A-Bration qualifying order of $50 before tax and shipping!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 233 - Nifty Fifty, Fancy Folds & Dragonfly Dreams

Wow!  Is it really already Wednesday, March 1st?  The start of the third month of the new year and our 9th Paper Craft Crew Challenge of the year!  Time is flying by and although I keep thinking I am going to have more time there is never enough.  I am writing this post at 10:30pm on Tuesday,February 28th after my fantastic Nifty Fifty Party for my customers who have spent $50 with me over the last year or so and had filled up my board.  Although, they too seemed to be a bit stressed about time, everyone took time to have a snack and make the card I decided to share for this week; Paper Craft Crew Challenge as it meet almost every Tic Tac Toe box.  It more link a BINGO challenge than Tic Tac Toe!  It could be any of the following:

  • Lace (the doilies, Shimmer (Glimmer Paper) Collage
  • Sequins, Shabby Chic, Burlap (the little embellishment on the front)
  • Collage, Burlap, Insect (Dragonflies!)
  • Lace, Shabby Chic, Insect
I need to stop and take a moment to thank Susan Levasseur for the inspiration for this card.  I loved her colors and stamp set choice SO much I had to make it with just a few tweaks to make it my own.

Yes, this card fits in a standard Stampin' Up! medium envelope!  Isn't that awesome!

So, here is a quick and easy template base of this fancy fold card.  I would recommend making a template and or practicing on a scrap piece of cardstock before you move on to your project.  Plus, then you always have a reminder of how easy this card is to make, but what a wow it will be to the person who receives it!

The Bermuda Bay layers are:
1 - 5 1/4  x 4
2 -  4 3/4 x 3 1/4
2 - 4 x 2 1/2

The Whisper White layers are:
1 - 5  x 3 3/4
2 - 4 1/2 x 3
2 - 3 3/4 x 2 1/4

The stamping on this card is very basic, but the SAB Glimmer Paper and the sequins along with the fancy folding make it a real wow!

So, now I challenge you to pick your favorite vintage Tic Tac, Toe boxes and create a card, scrapbook page or 3D item to share with us on the Paper Craft Crew page!

Thank you for popping by and letting me share my project.  It is late and I am sure I missed something, so if you have a question or want to order any of these fantastic products and get the Glimmer Paper for free contact me today!  I would love to help you!

Until next week....

Happy Stamping!
