Do you dream in color? We do!

April 4, 2013

Announcing our Color Refresh! We love color and we know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 we did a big color renovation and shared our plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep our colors on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. We did anticipate increased demand and based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions. However, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases. We encourage you to let your customers know that any of our retiring color products are only available while supplies last so they can get their favorites and look forward to the exciting colors coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalog. And also announced today, free shipping is going on April 6-8, 2013, which would be a great time for you and your customers to get your favorites before they are gone!

Just a little note with a lot of pictures!  My first ever Stampin' Up! Crop event was held the weekend of February 22.  We had loads of fun and got lots of stamping and scrapbooking done.  I have included several pictures from the event and hope that if you couldn't make it this time that you will try to make the next time.  I am shooting for a weekend in September.  If you want to get on the attendance list early, let me know you are interested!!!

The Corydon girls enjoying their scrappin' time.

Me getting ready for the make & take project.

Scrappers can never have enough space or containers.....ask Danelle!

More stuff....

Our stampin space after everyone moved if for the weekend.

Perfect placement!  I got lots of pages done in my scrapbooks despite my other jobs as hostess.  Some of you may recognize these elements, journaling block and border piece from Scrappers Six projects.

Sheryl spent her time working on cards.  She had some great ones by the time she went home.

Thanks to Sheryl Austin and Emily Penner for their photography skills and smart phones.  I forgot my camera!

I am planning another weekend crop in September.  If you are interested, please drop me an email or call.  I will make sure you get all the info.

I hosted my first ever Stampin' Up! Crop this past weekend and it was a great success!  We had loads of fun and got lots done in our scrapbooks.  The following are a few of the pages I did for myself.  I love my Big Shot and and LOVE what I can do with the Big Shots Dies in my scrapbooking!  These are two page layouts, but I have photographed them seperately hoping you can see more detail.  The Blossom Party die has so many ways to layer you could come up all kinds of flower combinations.  How many do you see on these two pages?  I am sure you could come up with even more on your own....mix and match!

These first two pages have the title "Generations".  As I was sitting trying to come up with a title I was telling my table mates about my Grandma Morrow and how she had a beauty shop she ran at the back of their home.  My cousin, years later, went to cosmotology school and reopened grandma's shop and named it Generations.....BOOM! there was my title!

Stamps:  None

CS:  Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

Paper:  Sunshine & Sprinkles

BS:  Blossom Party Die, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Other:  Minin Glue Dots, Itty Bitty Buttons, Ribbon Punch, In Color Designer Brads

This page was created for Christmas 2012!  Yes, I am so caught up.....NOT!  I still have to finish summer 2012.  :P  Anyway, I love, love, love a a little glimmer and what batter way to incorporate it than with Stampin' Up! Glimmer Paper and the Snow Flurry Die?

One of the biggest problems I have with writing in my scrapbooks in writing in a straight line.  You can't see it in my pictures, but I used the Simply Scored Tool and scored lines across the Top Note journaling block to create writing lines.  They are definitely there, but they are subtle....and I like that!

Stamps:  Make a Mitten

CS:  Very Vanilla, Chocolate Ship, Crumb Cake, Island Indigo

Paper:  Champagne Glimmer Paper, Neutrals Paper Stack

Ink:  Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake

BS:  Snow Flurry Die, Top Note Die

Other:  Designer Brads, Metallic Brads, Simply Scored, Sale-A-Bration Ribbon/Button Pack

If you would like to place an order, please click the SHOP NOW button at the top of the page and use hostess code:

Z2YG69GH (last day to order using this code is Monday, March 4 at noon)

The order will be shipped right away, directly to you.  I love Stampin' Up!'s new hostess codes and so do my hostesses!  If you want to host a party and invite friends/family that live far way, no problem.  They can use the hostess code assigned to your party and order online.  Their order is shipped immediately, directly to their door and you get the credit towards your party.  No delivery for you!!!!

STAMPS:  Easy Events, Pretty Petites (Sale-A-Bration Set)

CS:  Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

Ink:  Jet Black Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Tangerine Tango

Paper:  Sunshine & Spinkles DSP

Other:  Petite Curly Label Punch (Sale-A-Bration), Stampin' Dimensionals

This awesome little card was created using a couple of Sale-A-Bration 2013 items....Petite Curly Label Punch and the Pretty Petites stamp set that coordinates with punch.  Stampin' Up! would never let us down on matters of coordination!  Receive a free item of your choice from the Sale-A-Bration brochure for each $50 you spend from now until March 22!  Host a party and earn a free pack of Silver Glimmer Paper + your hostess benefits.  Have a $400 party and receive all of the above + Sycamore Street DSP + Sycamore Street Button & Ribbon Pack + the coordinating stamp set.  Join my downline as a demonstrator and earn even more free stuff from Sale-A-Bration.  Contact me to sign up or click on the button above.

The base is 3" x 7".  Score at 2" and 5".  When you fold on the score lines, the ends will overlap 1/2".  Use a Stampin' Dimensional on the right half of the Pretty Petites stamped & punched image...this holds the card shut like a latch.  Don't put the dimensional on the left half of the latch or the latch won't close.

I also used the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper to cover the flap on the Mini Envenlope to coordinate the envelope with the gift enclosure card.  Done!  This is easy, simple and quick.  Great for those last minute gifts.

I must apologize to everyone!  I have not had the ability to upload photos to my blog and I hope that now we are back on track.  I still can't upload from home, but I am an employed person again so will be able to upload photos from the computer lab at my job.  YEAH!

My first creation back is this beautiful chalkboard technique that seems to be all the rage right now.  I have seen it used in everything from advertising to card making and scrapbook pages.  Keep your eyes peeled ladies.....creative ideas are everywhere...even in an advertisement.

Stamps:  Delightful Dozen, Hearts a Flutter

CS:  Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeaid, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink:  Whisper White Craft, Lucky Limeaid, Melon Mambo

BS:  Hearts a Flutter Framelits

Other:  White Signo Gel Pen, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Stampin' Sponges, Pearls, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Small Heart Punch

Chalkboard Technique:

1.  Use Basic Black cardstock.

2.  Stamp your image using Whisper White Craft ink and emboss with Whisper White Embossing Powder.

3.  Use a Stampin' Sponge and sponge over the stamped image and sporadically over the rest of your "chalkboard".   Make sure to leave some areas unsponged to leave light and dark spaces on the chalkboard.  (I could have done a better job of this!)

4.  Use the White Signo Gel Pen and a straight edge to make a border around your chalkboard.

So simple, but so effective.  Have fun experimenting with the great technique!

I made this cute little tealight snowman as a stamp club project and have had LOTS of questions on how to make it so I am sharing with you here.  I found this project online in a couple of different places and have combined several different versions to create this version.  I plan to put several of these on my Christmas tree and maybe a few on packages this year.  It is a great project for package tags or tree ornaments.

Stamps:  None

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler

Ink:  Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black Marker

Big Shot:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Snow Flurry Die

Other:  1" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 3" Circle Die, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals, Cherry Cobbler & Gumball Green Sweater Trim, Wide Oval Punch, Word Window Punch

I have had some trouble finding tea lights in white.  I found my first package at Michaels.  The second package I found at Walmart, but it was their last package. The last two packs I found at the Dollar Tree, but had to go back the next day to get them as the sales clerk said they had them, but would not be putting them out until the next day.  I got them the next day, but I checked again today and they are out again.  These little buggers are hard to find, they sell out so fast.  If you find them buy what you need or they may not be there again.

Assembly Notes:

Use the Snow Flurry Die's largest snowflake to create the arms on the snowman.

Make the stocking hat by cutting a Wide Oval Punch piece in half and then use the Word Window Punch for the brim.

After cutting all the circles, use a Sponge Dauber and Bashful Blue ink and scrape the edges of each circle with color to create a little dimension for your snowman tea light.

To make the face, I punch the center hole for the "nose" with the 3/8" circle punch from the Punch Pack collection of three punches.  I punched the nose hole first and then punched the 1 3/8" Circle, centering the smaller punched hole .  You get a donut piece that you adhere to the top of the tealight with Multipurpose Adhesive.  Use a Sponge Dauber and Pink Pirouette ink to pink up the cheeks of the snowman.

I used the 1" Circle Punch to punch through the largest two circles (after they are adhered together with Stampin' Dimensionals) so the on/off switch and the battery could be accessed through the back.

The Dollar Tree tealights have little legs on the back, which I had to sand off with a Dremel tool so they would adhere to the cardstock.

Have fun creating your own!!!

It is with much regret that the COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL blog will be ending this week.  Go to the blog to read more details.  Below is our last color challenge and I hope you will take time out this week to submit and make the last week a great one.  I have had a great time submitting my projects each week as part of the design team.  I have made new friends in working with the design team members and have found some wonderful new blogs to follow from design team members and from those out there that took the time to create and submit their creations to the blog.  Enjoy this last post from COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL, but remember to keep coming back here to LESLIE's STAMPIN' SPOT for fun, new ideas to inspire you from me.  Leslie

This project is made from the Petite Pocket Die and the Big Shot, what a great gift card or cash holder for your Christmas festiviites.  These would look great on the Christmas for each child, grandchild, etc.  Each could be a little different and oh so beautiful.  This is definitely a quick, simple project.  I threw this together in ten minutes tops.

Stamps:  Perfect Punches

Ink:  Rose Red

CS:  Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals, Sarhara Sand

BS:  Petite Pocket Die, Fancy Fans Embossing Folder

Other:  Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch

Below is the inspiration and color combo for this week called Holiday Tints.  Be inspired and share on the COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL is your last chance!  PS - you don't have to have a blog to submit.  Just follow the steps and submit a photo from your camera, computer, etc.

This next project is made exactly the same as the one above, but has a completely different look.  This color challenge was to be next week's challenge.  You get a double dose this week!  I love this and think it just looks elegant and sophisticated yet easy peasy!  Try one yourself!

Stamps:  Perfect Punches

Ink:  Garden Green

CS:  Garden Green, Sahara Sand, River Rock

BS:  Petite Pocket Die, Fancy Fans Embossing Folder
