Stamp 'n Hop Blog Hop - My First Blog hop!

Hi!  And welcome to my first ever blog hop! My name is Tracey Gouraud and I hail from the wonderful state of Texas in the United States of America.  It is the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop and this month's theme is Anything  Occasions.  That means we could use anything from the current and new Stampin'  Up! 2018 Occasions catalog.   If you want to learn more just  click here you can read what all we have to offer. And if you still have questions, shoot me an email at!
Anyway... Back to what you're here for today!
Today I chose to feature the Hold on to Hope stamp set and Cross of Hope Framelits and the Brusho crystals! Easter is coming and this makes me think of it and what Jesus did for us on the cross. It took me a while to work this card out in my mind and in to a card.   The stamp set has one cross and some flowers and the framelits have a variety of crosses.  There in was my problem. Which cross to use.  I also wanted to use the Brusho crystals on this card wanted to try to emboss with them.  I played around with different methods of including the Brusho with the embossing powder.  I found I got a much brighter emboss with putting the Brusho down on the Versamark first then the embossing powder.  It made a more muted emboss if I included the crystals in the powder before applying either.

The good news is if you purchase the stamp set and the framelits and a $2 item before March 31, you will earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration item!  If you add in the Brusho crystals and $20 worth of other products, you would earn a level 2 FREE item!
Here's my first card for this, my very FIRST Blog hop.  So, please be gentle, but share constructive criticism with me.  Also, the weather was rainy, so the picture had to be taken inside when I prefer to take pictures of my cards I post outside.
I was also inspired at the last minute by a set of cards I saw on Blue Rose Paper Treasures so it took a little longer to create.

Big Shot

1. Cut Dapper Denim CS into 5 1/2" x 8 1 /2" inches ( US). Fold in half to make standard card (5 1/2" x 4 1 /4" ). Cut Whisper White CS to 4" x 3" . Then cut on diagonal to make 2 triangles. Use scrap of Whisper White to fit cross stamp. Cut Vellum to 5 1/2" x 4 1 /4" .

2.  Adhere whisper white triangles to top left and bottom right corners of front of card. Stamp cross using chocolate chip ink to whisper white scrap. Use cross framelit to die cut stamped cross. Adhere cross to center of card.

3. Stamp verse in Versamark in center of vellum. Shake brilliant red brush crystals to cover verse. Shake off excess. Add more crystals if necessary till verse is covered. Spoon or pour clear embossing powder over verse. Shake off excess. Heat with heat tool till dark and shiny.  Adhere vellum to card front.

I really like the soft muted look to this card. A really different effect to their cards I've seen using Brusho's

Tracey - Your card is beautiful! Thank you for sharing the background for how you created it. I find that I go through many iterations of idea and trial and error. The journey is half the fun, right? You did a great job on your first blog! I look forward to seeing the project that you create next month. Happy stamping!

Lovely card Tracey. I like how you've softened the background using vellum.
