Color Fusers Blog Hop: August 2016 - Part 1

Today I'll be sharing with you a super simple, cute card using the Sitting Here Stamp Set for the Color Fusers Blog Hop, Part 1 for August.  Whether this is your first stop or the last on your Blog Hop journey, WELCOME! The color scheme for August is Cherry Cobbler, Watermelon Wonder and Smoky Slate. I love this classic, clean, monochromatic color scheme!

Here's my simple card. It has with a number of little details that make it simply special to me. I hope you like it too!

This close up shows some of the little details I love including; the handcut cat, who I'm convinced is friends with the little bird nearby, the cute little pillows embellished with a Rhinestone Jewel, and the detailed coloring of these sweet, lovely images. To top it all off, the words just say it all... "just sitting here thinking of you"! I love the words in this Stamp Set!

Here are all the details for making this card:

Cardstock & Dimensions:

  • Watermelon Wonder Card Body 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
  • Cherry Cobber Focal Backing 3-5/8" x 4-7/8"
  • Whisper White Focal Piece 3-3/8" x 4-5/8"
  • Smoky Slate Strip 3/8" x 2-7/8"
  • Cardstock Scraps in Smoky Slate and Watermelon Wonder
Steps to complete this project:
1) Stamp swing on Whisper White focal piece using Archival Black Ink and color in with an Aquapainter and Smoky Slate Ink.
2) Color in the seat cushion with an Aquapainter and Watermelon Wonder Ink.
3) Stamp two rectangle shaped pillows and one round pillow in Cherry Cobbler Ink on Watermelon Wonder Cardstock. Cut pillows out using Paper Snips and attach using Mini Glue Dots.
4) Stamp cat in Archival Black Ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock, cut out using Paper Snips and attach with glue dots.
5) Stamp bird image on the swing and color in with an Aquapainter and Watermelon Wonder ink.
6) Stamp words in Archival Black Ink on Smoky Slate strip and attach with dimensionals.
7) Attach focal piece to Cherry Cobbler backing and attach to Watermelon Wonder card body with dimensionals.
8) For one final sweet touch, use a Paper Piercing Tool to attach a Rhinestone Jewel on the round pillow.

Such a pretty use of the colors! It's nice to see this stamp with just a couple of colors!
