Strong & Beautiful--#tgifc196

The TGIF Challenge this week is a product spotlight:  designer series paper.  Before I show you my project, I must tell you that patterned paper is my downfall.  However, the last couple of years I have been very disciplined about my purchases of designer series paper.  My paper purchases had gotten completely out of hand and worst of all, I was stockpiling it.  Something had to be done--so I made a plan and have stuck to it.  Well, I should say, I had stuck to it.  All my careful discipline and planning went completely out the window when I opened the current Occasions Catalog.  The designer series paper in this catalog is wonderful, amazing, beautiful, eye-catching.  The colors! The patterns! The colored printed vellum!  Resistance was futile.  Yes, I bought too much, but I am determined to use it.

The Floral Romance specialty designer series paper really called to me.  I didn't put it on my wish list.  I tried to hold the line but I kept going back to page 11 of the catalog and looking at the photos I took of it at OnStage.  I had to have it.  I kept looking at the pretty flower and leaf printed vellum and had to have it--it is so pretty.    So I ordered it.  When it came, I took it out of the packaging and I petted it and put it on my shelf and I took it out again later and looked at it again and petted it again and put it back again.  It is so, so pretty!

Thank you, TGIF Challenges design team for having this challenge.  I took this paper off the shelf and cut into it . . . finally!  I needed the push!

When I saw the floral leaves and blossoms printed vellum paper, I wanted to fussy cut out a bunch of the images and just layer them around sentiments from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set.  So that is what I did for this challenge:

I used another non-vellum pattern from the Floral Romance paper for my background.  I love the little specks of white and Pear Pizzazz on the Petal Pink background.  I layered this piece on Fresh Fig card stock and used Fresh Fig ribbon to bring out the Fresh Fig flowers in the vellum cutouts. The sentiment is stamped in Fresh fig as well.  I die cut it using the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies.

Do you know what I really love about this designer series paper pack?  There are three sheets of each one-sided vellum design and of each double-sided paper design.  So much pretty, pretty paper to use!
