Gift Card Package--#tgifc190

The sketch for this week's TGIF Challenge looks like a gift package.  So that is what I made: a gift package for a gift card.

The tag hasn't got a name on it . . . yet!  And there is no gift card inside,  yet.
But it is a pretty fancy package for someone special!

I started with a 4-1/2" x 11-1/2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock which I scored at 3" and then at 3-1/8".  Then I moved the 3-1/8" score line to 3" on my trimmer, scored, and moved that last score line to 3" and scored again.  That gave me a finished size of  4-1/2" x 3".  With a 1/8" gusset at the top so that my top layer would fit nicely around the folded piece:

I layered a piece of the Festive Farmhouse designer series paper over the same size of Cherry Cobbler card stock (3-1/3" x 4-3/8") for the front of my card holder.  Then I used a contrasting pattern from the same paper pack with a piece of Cherry Cobbler double stitched ribbon layered over it for the vertical "ribbon" on my package.  The horizontal ribbon also acts as the belly band for my package.  I layered the paper and ribbon on a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock to give the belly band more strength.

I die cut a small circle out of Cherry Cobbler and then adhered some die cuts from the Pretty Pines Thinlits set to create a little background for my deer.  I inked the deer in Gray Granite then sponged on some Frost White shimmer paint before stamping the deer onto Gray Granite card stock.  I love the little bit of shimmer it adds--even though you can't really see it in the photos.

I punched a thumb hole and then folded the bottom 2-1/2" piece up and adhered it with Tear & Tape to create a pocket for the gift card.

See lots of inspiring "gift packages" over at the TGIF Challenges blog here.

Comments:

Sara, I love how you turned the sketch into a little gift box. And the belly band with the little deer is so cute! Love all the layers too! Thanks for joining TGIFC this week.
