Creation Station February Blog Hop--Share What You Love

Hello!  Welcome to my blog and to the Creation Station February Blog Hop!
This month's theme is Share What You Love, with "love" being the operative word and "sweet or sassy, yet simple" being the descriptives to guide our creativity.

It's no secret.  I love my dogs.  Lucky for me, Stampin' Up! has the stamp sets to help me show them off.  Bella, in the Bella & Friends stamp set, looks a lot like my little cocker Roxie (a/k/a Princess Trouble).  The dog in the new Happy Tails stamp set is a good representative for Jake, my daughter's lab/blue tick hound mix, who has taken up residence with us.  So, today,  I am sharing my pups with you with a simple Valentine card and gift bag:

Roxie is a small black cocker spaniel and yes, she does have a big fluffy tail (my groomer thinks she is an English toy spaniel--she's a rescue so we really don't know).  We do know she is the smartest dog we've ever had and she is trouble coming right at ya!  She also is a pink kind of girl, so I used a Flirty Flamingo paper pattern from the All My Love designer series paper pack, layered over Lovely Lipstick foil for my background.  I stamped her in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored her with Basic Black Light and Flirty Flamingo Dark Stampin' Blends.  I layered her over two Lovely Lipstick foil hearts die cut with dies from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits set.  I embossed the solid heart with the Tufted 3D dynamic folder.  The greeting is from the Forever Lovely stamp set.

Jake is Katharine's sweet old man pup.  He's almost 15 and came to live with us when he could no longer navigate the steps into Katharine's traditional Charleston, South Carolina home.  He lost his brother Luke a few months before he came to live with us, and he was lonely and skinny when he came.  With Princess Trouble as his new alpha buddy, he's fattened up and even killed a couple of squirrels since he's been here. He's kind of brindled with brown and gold and black, so I just stamped him in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake card stock. He is the focal point on this simple gift bag made with the large setting on the Gift Bag Punch Board and a 12" x 7-1/2" piece of an All My Love designer series paper with a Crumb Cake background.   After I was finished punching and scoring with the punch board, I scored along the top of the bag at 3/4"  and folded this piece to the front of the bag to create a cuff.  I used a Gold Library Clip tied with a doubled piece of linen thread to close the bag. Jake is also layered over a Lovely Lipstick foil heart with a greeting from the Happy Tails stamp set.

I loved the opportunity to share my pups with you!  Now head over to Jennifer Downey's blog and see what she has to share with us.
