A Page for Katharine--#tgifc121

There is a new theme challenge this week at TGIF Challenges:

Depending upon your definition of "girlie", "fab" or "fancy", I  may not have met all the parameters for this challenge.  But I definitely made it for a woman in my life who makes it better!

This is for my strong, confident, smart, brave, tough, kind, creative, thoughtful, beautiful daughter, Katharine.  Not girlie.  Not fancy.  Just Amazing:

If you want more "girlie" and "fancy" in your projects, there are some really "fab" projects over at TGIF Challenges.

Something Old AND Something New--Creation Station June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Creation Station Blog Hop--Something Old AND Something New. And Welcome to my first blog hop as a member of this amazing team of artists.  I was thrilled when I was asked to join the Creation Station Design Team and my hope is that I can inspire you even half as much as this team has inspired me!

This month's theme is Something Old AND Something New.  We are using one of our current favorites and combining it with one of our must-haves from the new catalog.   My idea for my projects came while I was walking my dog, Roxie, in our back yard.  I was not paying much attention to what she was doing when suddenly she dove straight under the storage shed!!!  She came
out the other side pushing her turtle friend out in front of her.  Sealed the deal: I have photos of Roxie and the turtle!

Bella & Friends is one of my current (and probably forever) favorites mainly because Roxie is a dead ringer for Bella--right down to the heart-shaped rabies tag hanging from her collar.  My must-have is the new Color Theory Memories & More card pack.  I picked out the Berry Burst cards to use in my pocket page because Roxie is a little diva and bright pink is her color.

Here's my page:

There are several things I love about our new Memories & More line of products:
*Pocket Pages--I love how fast and easy my pages come together.

*Card packs contain 72 coordinating double-sided cards in 2 sizes, plus sticker sheets and printed acetate cards.  I used three different cards from this pack in my pockets--two as backdrops and one for journaling.  I used a hexagon striped sticker at the top right-hand-corner of my page to tie in with the hexagon design on the side of my journaling card.  I also used some flower stickers on my Roxie-colored Bella image in the lower right-hand corner and the caption sticker "my friend" on the turtle photo.

*The card packs coordinate with specific product suites in the catalog so it is easy to pick out coordinating paper and embellishments to use on your pages.  I used a piece of the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack as a backdrop for my page title, "You have a friend in me" and stamped image of Bella and the turtle.  The Old Olive 3/8" mini chevron ribbon and the Glitter Enamel Dots I used are also a part of the Color Theory Suite.

*The card packs are also great to use as accents on traditional scrapbook pages and even for other projects.  How about a gift tag?

I used one of the cards to create my tag base and added a flower sticker centered with a Glitter Enamel Dot to decorate the Bella (I keep wanting to type "Roxie") image piece.  (Tip:  coloring an image in black is a little tricky--I've found that my best tools for that are the Basic Black watercolor pencil and an Aqua Painter).

Or how about using the cards to make a card?

This beautiful floral branch is one of the cards in the Color Theory card pack.  Talk about easy card making!  I just added a sentiment from the Bella & Friends stamp set and a piece of Berry Burst 1/2" finely woven ribbon and layered it on a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock and a Berry Burst card stock card base.

For more inspiration from the Creation Station Team, just click on the name under the "Back" or "Next" Button below and you will hop on over to another team member's blog.  Then just keep on hopping until you are back to me.

Don't forget to add a comment!  I'd love to know what you think.  Are you going to be putting a Color Theory Memories & More Card Pack on your wish list?  I've got another set on mine!
