Summer Workshops

Well I am back from holidays, we all had a great time at Butlins.  The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves, swimming every day, a show or two every day and lots and lots and things to play and explore on - even for a 9mth old!

Anyway my next workshops are approaching fast, and I thought I would share what we will be doing at them.  Brayering -  a lovely technique to blend colour seamlessly and to create a range of fantastic backgrounds for your focal images.  This week, I am showing the classic 'sunset' background, which is great for learning the basics of brayering, as well as a useful background for many projects - including scrapbooking.

These workshops will run slightly differently, in that I hope to explain a number of techniques, but only create two full cards.  This way my guests will get to cover a lot of ground and have homework to experiment with.

Here is my attempt at a sunset scene.  One thing I found was to work on a glass mat, as it made a smooth surface to work on and I could 're-load' the brayer from the ink on the mat so as not to waste too much ink.

I am really looking forward to my workshops so I can share this technique, plus a few more.  There are still spaces available for August 21st if this interests you.

I am also very busy getting organised for my open day on the 5th September.  This is to 'officially' launch Fi's Papercraft as an Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator, and it also nicely coincides with the release of the Stampin' Up Autumn/Holiday Catalogue.  I have had a sneak peek and thereis soo much gorgeousness in it, I am going to have a difficult time choosing what to buy.  Come and have a look for yourself.  £5 includes a catalogue, one make and take and lots of cake and chit chat.
