One Stamp For Many Occasions

As a child I loved designing cut-out doll clothes. This stamp from the Stampin' Up! "Beautiful You" stamp set, gives me a similar experience. Just change the dress and sentiment and you have most occasions covered. You can even chang her dress into a pant-suit for a fuller figure, by covering up one side of the stamp then moving it over and stamping the other side.

Beautiful you

Carnival Stall

Carnivals and fetes can be a great boost for your handcrafting business. It sure was for me today. I loved chatting, meeting new people and inviting people to one of my exisitng workshops, and to take part in the free stamping activity (thanks to Stampin’ Up’s generous donation of products for the event. I sold a worthwhile lot of products, even got an order for 20 thank-you cards. I was asked to take a workshop at another café and my business card was asked for a few times. An interesting day. The photos were taken as we were setting up. We moved the table forward.

May life be filled with fond memories ( & making the most of what you have)

Wondering what to do with all that brown paper that comes with our Stampin' Up! order? I created some thank you bags to hold things like Stampin' Up!'s invitation flyer to join them in making a difference by supporting a charity ... and a chocolate so everyone would have a fond memory of the event. I even made a little box to fit the chocolate bar. I gave each participant at our monthly workshop - Kings Café Cards & Cuppa - a bag and the extra's I was able to give away to a few passers-by's who stopped to talk.
[The stamp "May life be filled with fond memories" comes from the 'Better Together' set. I stamped it on the bag and the choc box.]

a few LAYERING IDEAS to enhance your projects

Layers can be used to frame or direct the eye to the centre of interest.
Try rotating the layer. It may make your composition more interesting.
In the scrapbook poem below, I stamped the background, with the same colour ink as the frames.
This gives the illusion of a slight embossing in some lights.
Embossing using the Stampin Up! embossing folders adds texture and depth, like adding a layer.

Add layers to your 3D cards or objects to step it up a level.
Would the Stampin Up! Linen Thread enhance this 3D card if it was curled using the heat tool before threading it through the hole in the seed packet? Try and see, is one of the methods I use.

Venture or Adventure?

Jennifer Phillips at St Margaret's July garage sale
It was great to be part of St Margaret's Garage sale. I loved chatting and inviting people to workshops ... and even sold a worthwhile lot of things.
There was some interest in hosting and an upcoming order for cup shaped gift boxes for a charity high tea. This photo was taken early on, but already a good number of shoe shaped gift containers had been sold. The little girls loved them! The Clear Faceted Gems I'd decorated some with were a hit too.
All in all it felt like a most successful and worthwhile venture, or should I say, part of the great adventure!
