Life's just "One Wild Ride" Pennisationals Blog Hop

If your following the Pennsational Team Blog Hop, then you’ve just come from the lovely Rebecca Scurr, doesn’t she do such gorgeous work.  I am so blessed to have so many talented stampers/paper crafters in my team.

I’m always getting asked for male cards and so when I saw this “One Wild Ride” set on page 115 of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, I knew I had to get it!  I have nephews and many male friends who ride, so I knew it would get a lot of use - these stamps would make great 18th or 21st cards too, or great for those at the other end of their lives, who might be retiring, let alone just the general birthday card.  I have also seen this card made for girls/ladies too - even one of the samples on page 115 has been done in Blushing Bride and Smokey Slate - perfect for that female rider too!

I kept these cards in the same colour scheme, Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White - I’ve added some of the silver foil sheets to add that little bit of “metal” and texture.  This set has many great sentiments in it to, as you can see the “Born to Ride” banner (my favourite), coordinates with the new “Bunch of Banners framelits" on page 193 and the “Life’s a Journey” badge is designed to be used with the new “Best Badge” punch on page 186.  It also has the gravel and tyre tracks stamps, making it so versatile, that you don’t really need any other stamp set to coordinate with it - it’s all in the one set.

This really is one of those sets that you’ll use again and again and unlike some sets, it’s images won’t date or be out of style as the images are so traditional.  You can purchase these great products from my online store and if you do, I’ll send you the tutorial for these cards (plus 2 more) for free, as a thank you from me.

Thanks for joining us today - enjoy xxxx

Head off to my next team member the lovely Joanna Wiggs - she’s bound to have something gorgeous in store.

Pennisationals Blog Hop

Christmas Elegance

Thanks for dropping by and seeing what we are all creating - you've probably just come from Rebecca's blog, doesn't she do the most gorgeous work?

I was all up for this blog hop, until I heard we had a colour challenge!  Yikes, I love these colours of Blackberry Bliss, Island Indigo and Gold, but I was committed to do a Christmas card, as I'm totally in Christmas mode now and it is only 72 days to the guy with the beard and the read suit arriving, so I just couldn't think of any other project other than Christmas.

I totally love the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits (page 12 Christmas Catalogue), they do come with a coordinating stamp set, but I'm using them stand alone here on this card.  My card base is Blackberry Bliss from the 2104-2016 In-Colour series, it's created a rich dark base, almost like a night sky. I then added a small piece of the new Winter Wonderland Christmas Vellum (page 23 Christmas Catalogue), this is a great 6x6 paper stack with 36 sheets of gold and black patterns on vellum, all so useful.  I opted for the snowflakes, as it was soft and yet it still let the Blackberry Bliss come through.   I've used Island Indigo card in the middle with the trees, to bring that sense of a winter chill and then added the elegance with the horse and cart in our gold foil card stock - to die for.  I added the word "Merry" using the Christmas Greetings Thinlit Dies (page 34 Christmas Catalogue) in Blackberry Bliss card stock, which I think ties the whole card together.

On the inside I used the lovely greeting from the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set (page 15 Christmas Catalogue), another favourite of mine this year and stamped this in Blackberry Bliss ink, on Very Vanilla card stock - I added a slither of the gold foil across the bottom, just to continue the elegance into the inside of the card.  I then just added a strip of the snowflake vellum that was an off-cut to the side of the Very Vanilla envelope.

You could make this card in all sorts of colour combinations and with different textures too, they are quite easy cards to make, you could make some in plain green, red and white and others in an array of colours - I would never have usually used this colour combination for Christmas, but enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone and having a go - in fact, I'm really pleased with the result.  Will pop this out at my next event and see what people have to say.

Anyway, time for you to keep going and visit the lovely Mel Pagano, she's bound to have something amazing waiting for you!

Until next time……...

Happy Stamping!

Pennisationals Holiday Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

So excited to be part of our very first Pennsational Blog Hop - if you are here, then you have just come from the lovely Rebecca's Blog, doesn't she do such beautiful work?  I'm really blessed to have Rebecca in my team, as well as the other 5 ladies joining in on this blog hop tonight and all the others who weren't able to - we really have a wonderful team of very talented ladies.

My cards today were totally inspired by the "Home for Christmas" suite on pages 8 & 9 of the new Holiday Catalogue.  I just love the gorgeous traditional images on the designer paper (DSP) and for some reason, they remind me of my Christmases as a little girl.  I particularly love the cute reindeer card and I just love how you can cut him out as well as the Santa and the tree, from the DSP to make highlights on your cards, then just add a seasonal greeting from the "Cozy Christmas" stamp set.  The colours are very traditional too, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party and Real Red, all set off the scene for something special.

I worked out you can get 31 full santa's and 9 part santa's from one sheet, 43 full reindeers and 8 part ones from one sheet (see how I placed a part one in the inside of my reindeer card, how cute is that!) and 15 full trees from one sheet, with lots of cute presents that you could scatter on envelopes or inside cards - plus it's something you can easily sit and do while watching a movie and before you know it you'll have a stash of cut outs, all ready to team with a greeting and adhere to your cards.

I used the square framelits on the Santa card and cut out a square of the designer paper, then adhered my soft sky square into the space, that way I can use that square of designer paper for something else!  I added our new Home for Christmas enamel dots, and a designer button from the same suite, just to add some depth and texture.

I know that you will have so much fun making your cards from this suite - don't hesitate to call or email me to place your order, the holiday catalogue goes live on Tuesday 1st September, so only 2 more sleeps to go!

I'll let you continue along now to the lovely Mel Pagano - she is truly amazing and I know you'll love what she has in store.

Happy Stampin'

Build A Birthday Class

Here are some fun cards we made at my recent Build A Birthday class.  I think this set really lends itself to bright and cheerful cards, which it does perfectly, especially using the Cherry on Top Designer Paper stack with it - page 144 of the Annual Catalogue.  It's nice to add panels of designer paper that just help to make the stamps pop off the page.  I've also used some glimmer paper and basic jewels as well.

I wanted to try and show that you can also use this set for other types of cards.  The lovely Smoky Slate card is gorgeous with blushing bride designer paper and some silver glimmer paper too.  This would make a lovely wedding card or even to celebrate a new baby.

The Rose Red card mainly shows the cake base as a small table and I've added the vase from Floral Wings stamp set on page 180.  It's a hostess only set, but was perfect for this card.  I added the leaves from the Bird Builder punch and the flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.  Add a little bit of Designer Paper, here I've used the Neutrals Designer Paper stack, which I love and some Mint Macaron Dotted Trim Lace, from page 159.

Hope you like them.
See you again soon.

Eureka's Stampers New Catalogue Blog Hop

Watercolor Butterflies

Thanks for dropping by and joining us on our Eureka Stampers Team Blog Hop today. No doubt you've come along from the lovely Rose Packer.

Today's card is Watercolor Butterflies - I so loved this gorgeous stamp set as soon as I laid eyes on it - it's versatile and easy to use - you can make vintage, contemporary and modern cards with this set and the matching framelits.

Here I've just gone with the elegance of Whisper White, I'm using our new Whisper White Thick Card Stock, which has been created to use as a card base, not our usual Whisper White that is great for stamping on.  It's best to score this first and then fold it, just so it doesn't wrinkle.  I've used the new but already very popular Fluttering 6 x 6 Embossing Folder, to add texture and to continue the theme on the base card.  I've used Mint Macaron ink for the large butterfly base and Mellow Moss ink for the centre, to create some definition, this has been stamped on a scrap of Whisper White.  It's best to use the framelits at this point and then come back and add the butterfly body once cut out - it's much easier to line up - I used Smoky Slate for this part.

I've added the 3 main greetings from Cottage Greetings in Watermelon Wonder ink and added our new metal rimmed pearls to the centre, to continue that touch of elegance as well.  I've created an inside card panel and matching Whisper White envelope to add to the whole look.  It's such a beautiful combination, you could have a whole heap of these made and just pop the relevant greeting on depending on what you need.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like a copy of the latest Annual Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 catalogue - it has 189 pages of gorgeous new stamp sets, embellishments, designer series paper and much more.

I believe you are heading over to my lovely team member Tricia Raineri from here.  Tricia does such gorgeous work and if your over on the Bellarine Peninsula, near Geelong, then it would be well worth joining Tricia for one of her amazing clubs or classes.

Happy Stampin'!

Eureka's Stampers Easter Blog Hop

Happy Easter Tulips

Thanks for dropping by and joining us on our Eureka Stampers Team Blog Hop today.  No doubt you've come along from the lovely Heather McCarthy's blog - doesn't Heather do beautiful work?  She's a beautiful lady to boot too!

Here is my Easter card for this year - growing up in the UK, Easter was in Spring and there were always tulips in the parks and gardens, so I fell in love with this "Love Is Kindness" stamp (in the Occasions Catalogue, page 32, a bargain at $15.95 #137131).  I've stamped it in the Black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock and mounted it on a panel of Pear Pizzazz card.  I then used the Stampin' Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral to colour in the tulips.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds with the 2-way glue pen, just to given them some extra sparkle.   I created an insert panel to the card and coloured it in the same way and created a matching envelope too.
I embossed the front of the Pear Pizzazz card with the Polka Dots embossing folder, to create some texture and then added a panel of Calypso Coral Designer Paper out of the Subtles Designer Paper Stack and mounted this on Whisper White Card Stock.  Both panels were raised on dimensionals to give that extra dimension and then I added a Calypso Coral Seam Binding bow (gee, I LOVE seam binding!) and adhered it with a glue dot.
The Happy Easter sentiments were from the new Crazy About You stamp set (in the latest Occasions Catalogue, page 31 - a must have set for the collection) - I stamped these in Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White card and then punched them out using the Word Window punch, to create that uniformity.
