Welcome Back River Rock

This was one of my favourite colours 2 years ago when it was an In Colour, and I was so happy to see it return as a core colour.

I've CASEd this card from an extremely talented stamper named Teneale Williams, she does the most beautiful creations and this was a Christmas Card she did last year. I made the tiniest of changes:  the colour, the greeting and the way I attached my ribbon.  Do you notice how it alll gathered up?  Of course you do, you're not blind, well this was another little trick we learnt at regionals.  That is just the regular Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, what you do is fray the end a little, grasp one of the middle threads  (running down the centre)  and gentle pull to gather it up, then you just ease the gathering along the ribbon unitl you get the desired length you want.  You can also vary the amount of ruffling - isn't that cool?

Stamps:  Snow Swirled
Paper:  River Rock, Very Vanilla
Ink:  River Rock, Versamark, White Craft
Accessories:  3/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta, Basic Pearls, Sponge

Here's another version, very similar using Soft Suede instead of River Rock.  You can't see it in the photo, but I have added little dots of Dazzling Diamonds on the tree.  I don't know about this one, I think I might have overdone it with the snowflakes in the background.

Stamps:  Snow Swirled
Paper:  Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Soft Suede, Versamark, White Craft
Accessories:  5/8" Very Vanilla Satin, Two Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Sponge

Thanks for dropping by,

These cards both look equally stunning.. I like that ruffled ribbon effect. have always wanted to use it. Thanks for the tips.. Nicky
