Hoppy Memories

Two posts in one day!!  Don't get used to it, it may never happen again.

In my quest for making boys cards and not really having very many boy stamps, I turned to the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin Kit.  It's not just for doing scrapbook pages, you can use all those elements for cards as well.  Everything used in this card is from the kit apart from the greeting which is stamped.  The other great thing is, the kits make things quick! I whipped this up in less than 30 minutes last night.

Stamps:  On Your Birthday
Paper:  Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin Kit
Ink:  Chocolate Chip

This is a card I made for Charlie's 4th birthday, earlier this year.  It is a case from a very talented Canadian demonstrator named Andrea Walford, and I didn't use a single stamp.

Paper:  Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin Kit
Accessories:  Large star punch, 1/4" Real Red grosgrain, circle scissors plus, on board loads of letters
Non SU:  nestabilities

And of course some actual scrapbooking...

Stamps:  Wild About You, Big Deal Alphabet
Paper:  Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin Kit, Whisper White
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories:  Photo corners punch, mat pack

Clean and Simple Challenge

Hi everyone,

I realised last night when I was checking my stash that I am very low on cards for young boys. Lila has a birthday party today and I usually have a selection of cards for her to choose from but she was horrified to find I only had 2 for her to eenie, meenie, miney, mo.  So I thought I better do some more and I headed over to the clean and simple sketch challenge to start me off - from there it was easy - that's why I love sketches - all the hard work is done.

This is the sketch

And this is my card.  I used the very cute Wild About You set and chose some BRIGHT colours.

Stamps:  Wild About You, On Your Birthday
Paper:  Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Ink:  Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Only Orange, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories:  Matt pack, 1 3/8" square punch

Some Scrapbooking....

Hi guys,

I wanted to give you some inspiration for using all that Designer Series Paper that you've been getting in the shares and the deals of the week so ... I have a few scrapbook pages to show you.

These are my two beautiful girls who really do look "Happy Together "in this photo - which is quite a rare thing (they're often happy but just not together) so I HAD to preserve the memory on paper!   I love the bright and cheery flowers of the Washington Apple DSP together with the Petal Pizzazz flowers stamped in matching colours. I  cut the circle with my Circle Scissors Plus and pierced around the edge to give it some interest.

Stamps:  Petal Pizzazz, Happy Everything
Paper:  Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Washington Apple DSP
Ink:  So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, White Craft
Accessories:  Scallop edge punch, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon, Circle Scissors plus, Mat Pack, 5/8" So Saffron Striped Grosgrain

This precious snap was captured as Lila met her new cousin, Abby for the first time - she was smitten - didn't want to put her down ever!  She kept trying to pick her up when we weren't looking - talk about a day of heart attacks - me and my sister!
I love the soft colours of the Tea Party DSP together with the black and white photo and with one of my favourite sets to use for scrapbooking - Petal Pizzazz  - because the flowers are quite big and look really good when you cluster them together.

Stamps:  Petal Pizzazz, Short and Sweet
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP
Ink:  Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron
Accessories:  5/8" Certainly Celery Grosgrain, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, scallop edge punch, soft subtles brad, Pretty in Pink Taffeta,  photo corners punch
Non SU:  white crochet cotton, button

The sweetest thing.... it really truly was. Molly meeting Abby for the first time - so cute.
I have to apologise for this photo - I tried taking it lots of times all over the house and ending up choosing the one I took outside as the best.  I really struggle with photographing my scrapbook pages sometimes - anyway, it looks much better in real life.  I went for the pink and brown combo for this one using the Candy Lane DSP.  Of course you can't tell from this awful picture but the photo is mounted onto pink patterned paper and the word "sweetest" is stamped onto the same pink DSP in Close to Cocoa ink and then I've cut the letters out.  The button is faux - if you have ever been to any of my classes  you might have used these and I would have either shown or explained to you how to make them with a circle punch and Crystal Effects - they do look very real.  Now that I have the Buttons die it's even easier because the little button holes are already punched for you.

Stamps:  Warm Words, Jumbo Outline Alphabet
Paper:  Very Vanilla textured 12x12", Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Candy Lane DSP
Ink:  Close to Cocoa
Accessories:  5/8" Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain, 3/4" circle punch, cropodile, Crstal Effects, Flower Fusion Too, Vintage Brads, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, eyelet border punch, linen thread

Take care,
