Build a Blossom Birthday Card

Recently one of my very best friends had a birthday and this is her card. It took me hours, because I fiddled and changed everything 100 times until I was finally happy.  I used the Build a Blossom stamp set ... at last... another one I HAD to have and then it just sat there. Anyway, I love how this card turned out, I think I will remake it in some other colours.

I'm linking this card to the SUO Challenges which is to use only 1 colour (plus a neutral). Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake together are one of all time favourite colour combos and I am going to miss Baja Breeze massively when it retires at the end of June :( I ran the petals over my Bone Scorer before attaching them to give some dimension, you should be able to see that in the photo below.

Stamps:  Build a Blossom, Made For You, Netting

Paper:  Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Neutrals Patterns DSP

Ink:  Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake

Accessories:  Neutrals Button, Linen Thread, Blossom Petals Builder Punch

Thanks for taking a look, I hope you have a great day,

Sue

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #136 - Charms

Hi Everyone,

and if this is your first visit, welcome to my blog!  For the next month, I have the enviable task of Guest Designer at 4 Crafty Chicks. This week the challenge is Charms.  I have chosen to use one of the gorgeous Tea Time Trinkets from the Seasonal Catalogue.  I have teamed it up with the Tea for Two DSP, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Flower Trim and the Delicate Doilies Die. I was commissioned to make this card and I knew she wanted it to say 80th, so I printed my sentiment onto Very Vanilla and punched it out. I used an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake Ink to colour the paper doily as I wanted an off white. The wetness from the Aqua Painter caused the edges to curl a little, but I really liked this and think it added to the overall effect.  I used a Sponge Dauber and Pretty in Pink Ink to colour the Flower Trim and finished off with sponging around pretty much everything with Crumb Cake Ink. I hope you like the card and you'll join us at 4 Crafty Chicks for this week's challenge.

Stamps: Netting, Delicate Doilies, Tiny Tags

Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Tea for Two DSP

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Big Shot, Delicate Doilies Die, LInen Thread, Vanilla Flower Trim, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Aqua Painter, Sponge, Tea Time Trinkets, Jewellery Tag Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch

Thanks so much for dropping by, have a great day,

Sue

Henry Says.... It's Your Birthday!

Isn't this stamp cute?  It's called Henry Says and comes with a variety of little stamps that make Henry say all kinds of things. You can do Christmas, Invitations, Congratulations, Love, it's so versatile.  It will available on Feb 1st when the new Seasonal Catalogue goes live.

I have used my very ordinary watercolouring skills to colour Henry in Pool Party and then stamped the party hat and banner.  The button is from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack which you can earn for freee during Sale a bration.  The inspiration for the colour palette came from 4 Crafty Chicks.  I no longer have Soft Sky or Blue Bayou, so I have substituted with Pool Party and Not Quite Navy.

Stamps:  Henry Says

Paper:  Pool Party, Early Espresso, Watercolour, Neutrals Patterns DSP

Ink:  Jet Black Stazon, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Not Quite Navy

Accessories:  Pool Party Bakers Twine, Aqua Painter, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack (SAB), Big Shot, Adorning Accents Edgelits

Thanks so much for dropping in, have a great day,

Sue

Patio Party Birthday Card

Here's a card I made a while ago when I first got my hands on the Patio Party DSP.  It's really quick and simple and by keeping the layout the same and just changing the paper and sentiment, it could be for any occasion. An excellent way to make use of scraps also.

Stamps:  Bring on the Cake

Paper:  Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Patio Party DSP

Ink:  Jet Black Stazon, Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit

Accessories:  Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Scallop Border Ribbon Punch, Blender Pen, 1 3/8" Square Punch

Thanks for dropping by, have a great day,

Sue
