Old friends

Over the past month I've told you about my plan to move my papercrafting blog to a new website and I've been thrilled at how many of my readers have already signed up to receive notifications when I publish content on my new blog.  The decision to make the switch has been a long time coming but I think that the time is right to take my blog and website to the next level.

I had planned a bit of an overlap to give my readers time to bookmark / subscribe to my new website and blog, and that's what I've been doing for the past couple of days, posting in both places.  Unfortunately that means double the work in front of my computer, and to be honest I'd rather spend my time playing with new products I've recently got from the Stampin' Up! 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.  So I've decided that this will be the last project I'll post here on my old blog...

Friends card with a watercolour effect background using the Love What You Do Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

It's a simple card but with quite a few sneak peeks for you.

First the card base is from the new Delightfully Detailed Notecards & Envelopes Pack.  There's 20 3-1/2" x 5" cards (5 each of 4 different watercolour effect designs).  Two of the designs are in Mint Macaron and two are in Blackberry Bliss and the base colour is Very Vanilla.  There's also 20 envelopes included in the pack.  The cards are pre-scored so I only needed to use a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.

Then I used the returning Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the sentiment from the Love What You Do Stamp Set onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card.

The lovely shape of the sentiment layer was created using the new (and frankly indispensible) Detailed Trio Punch.  This punch was used to round opposite corners of my sentiment layer and also to punch the triple leaf shape you can see in the bottom right.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the sentiment to a layer of Blackberry Bliss Card with two of the corners rounded to match the sentiment.  Underneath the pretty Rich Razzleberry pearl (from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls) is a small circle which punches out with the triple leaf (you can see that on the punch in the main photo).

With the sentiment assembled I simply mounted it onto the front of the notecard with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I love the decorative element on the Detailed Trio Punch and so I used it to punch out a Post-It® Note to create a mask.  I placed the mask onto the bottom right corner inside the card and used a piece of Stampin' Sponge to sponge some Blackberry Bliss ink. When I removed the mask I revealed the design that matched the cut-out section on the sentiment.

I repeated the same masking and sponging on the front of the notecard envelope and my quick sneak peek project was complete.

The punch, which I love, is called Detailed Trio Punch and I've shown you the corner rounder and the decorative element parts of it.  In a future sneak peek I'll show you the third option for the punch, an oval hole that I'll be using a lot for ribbon and twine on future projects.

Yesterday was the last day that Stampin' Up! guaranteed the availability of their retiring ink refills and ink pads.  From now on they're only available while stocks last.

Today, in order to clear the warehouse for all the new goodies that will be arriving soon, Stampin' Up! have announced that selected products on the retiring list are now reduced by up to 50%.  I have no doubt this will speed up the rate at which products sell out so if there's anything you saw that you've been waiting to order, now's the time to act.  In fact, even if you didn't think there was something you wanted/needed, why not check the discounted product list, just to be sure?

So that's it for me.  Starting tomorrow you'll need to visit my new blog to see further sneak peeks and daily inspiration from my craft studio.  To make sure you don't miss anything, please subscribe to my new blog so you'll receive an e-mail (maximum once a day) if I've posted new content in the previous 24 hours.

If you want to keep up-to-date with other news from Stampin' Up! and my craft studio, or want additional content and promotions reserved exclusively for my followers, please also sign up to recieve my newsletter.

See you on the other side x
