October 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop - Autumn Color Challenge

It's time for another Kre8tors Blog Hop!  This month's Autumn Color Challenge is based on the following picture.  Isn't it gorgeous?

For this challenge, we could choose any 3 of the colors plus we could also use Whisper White, Very Vanilla, and Basic Black.  I love this color palette!  I'm excited to see what everyone has made.  To check out all of the talented demonstrators, go to the list toward the bottom of today's blog.  You can click on the next arrow, but if you get lost, you can return to this blog and click on each name of the list.  My card was inspired by a card by Kristi L. Gray.  I made a lot of changes to her, here's my card:

Here are the details:
  • Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock (8-1/2" X 5-1/2"), Very Vanilla (3-1/8" X 3-5/8", 4" X 5-1/4" plus scrap ), Pumpkin Pie (3-1/4" X 3-3/4" plus scrap), and Real Red Scrap
  • Emboss the 4" X 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  • Using a spong dauber layer the following inks on the 3-1/8" X 3-5/8" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock:  Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red.  Let these inks dry thoroughly!

  • Using Versamark, stamp the trees from the Winter Woods Stamp Set.  Heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.  Make sure that you clear excess embossing powder off unstamped area!
  • Using a sponge brayer, apply Soft Suede Ink over entire area.  The trees will come into view!  After the ink dries, remove excess from the stamped area with a tissue.
  • Stamp sentiment from the Pleasant Pheasant Stamp Setwith Soft Suede Ink on scrap of Very Vanilla.  Cut out with Merry Christmas Framelit.  Using a sponge dauber, edge with Pumpkin Pie Ink.  Pop up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Cut leaves from Pumpkin Pie scrap and Real Red scrap with the Seasonal Layers Framelits.  Edge with sponge dauber and coordinating colors.  Embellish with Linen Thread.  Pop up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

That's all for today!  To check out the other cards in this swap, click on the next button.  If you get lost in the hop, the list of demonstrators is below.  Just click on a name to go to her blog!  Thank you for joining us this month.

I know, Melissa! I cracked up when I realized! They are totally different cards with different stamps! We made this card at my workshops this week. Everyone loved it. Now, I'm telling them to check out your card to see the same technique, but different! Thanks!
