PPA 188 - Thinking of You...

Hello on this very windy Sunday in Southern Ontario.

I decided to play with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

This week Margaret Moody brings us a very clean-lined and simple sketch.

Here's what I came up with:

With Valentine just around the corner, I have been making a few projects that involved a lot of little hearts and red! In another project I stamped and cut a whole row of hearts. I had the piece of paper with the negative hearts sitting on my desk and wanted to use it: I covered it with Versamark and Iridescent Ice to emboss it and give it some glimmer to create the vertical band.

PPA178 - A Color Challenge

Hopefully today we all took a moment to remember all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.

For the first Pals Paper Arts color challenge of November, the Color Team has put together these three enticing colors:  Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit.

I made this very simple birthday card, using pieces of the SOHO Subway DSP, which has those three colors.

Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit can be found on the numbers pennant and the background is mainly Crisp Cantaloupe with some Early Espresso. The sentiment has been colored with the markers, in the same colors.

Freshly Made Sketches #110 and FAB Friday 30

Freshly Made Sketches #110 - A Sketch by Rita

I had some time to create another card on Sunday night, so I decided to play with that great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches provided by Rita. Here's her sketch:
and I decided I would try to use the colors from the color challenge over at Fab Friday 30!

Even though these colors really are autumn inspired, I made this Christmas card:

MOJO Monday 317

Good Sunday Night:

I hope you took advantage of the extra hour today! But personally I think it should be a full day instead of just one hour, don't you think!

A quick post to share the card I made for Mojo Monday 317. For this week challenge, Julee Tillman has created a fun sketch full of circles, and you can even pick between a circle card or a square one. I made a 5 1/2" square one.

Here is Julee's sketch:

First I flipped the sketch on its side. The base of my card is Very Vanilla and the background is Basic Black, over which I layered a piece of DSP from the Season of Style pack on one side and a piece of embossed gold foil on the other. For the band across I used a piece of Brushed Gold carstock and I embossed a smaller piece of Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations with the Pretty Print and sanded lightly so the letters would show up a little more.

For the large circle, I gold embossed the Wonderful Wreath on Brushed Gold and cut it using a Circle framelit. On the 2 smaller circles I stamped Santa and the Christmas Ornament with the sentiment from the Best of Christmas set. I then mounted them on a round piece of vellum and use dimensionals to pop them over the wreath.

JAI # 187 and PP # 168

With this card, I will be combining 2 challenges: the Just Add Ink # 187, a first sketch from Paula, and the Paper Players # 168, create a CAS masculine birthday card!

For the Just Add Ink challenge, I flipped the sketch and used a 'vintage' stamp set, "Countryside" to stamp an old rusty truck. This will be a birthday card for my brother-in-law who lives in the States and who absolutely loves old trucks. I printed his family name on the rusty door.

Here's the sketch from Just Add Ink:

Freshly Made Sketches #108 - A Sketch by Narelle

This week at Freshly Made Sketches we have a very neat layout provided by Narelle Farrugia.

The base of my card is Very Vanilla with a piece of Birthday Basics DSP on top of it. I then used another piece of the same DSP, this time the one with the balloons, over Bermuda Bay. The cake/greeting is stamped on a Very Vanilla panel that is anchored over Crisp Cantaloupe with candy dots in the four corners. The band across the card is another piece of that Birthday Basics DSP again over Crisp Cantaloupe.

The Paper Players # 166

Last night I went to my upline's studio (Jamilla Ivits)  for another great 3-3-10 class. She had designed 3 beautiful cards for the class. I would like to link up one of the card made following her design to The Paper Players challenge # 166 where Nance wanted to see something with a Halloween theme.

So here is my card for this challenge:

Thank you Jamilla for this great design. The only think I changed was I added one more sentiment (Happy Halloween) and rolled up the black piece of DSP just like you had the one just above.
