My name is Robyn Rasset, I live on a farm west of Minneapolis and I love animals of all kinds, so this Hop Theme was right up my alley. I also love o color so I decided to combine the two.

Wilderness Awaits Watercolor Close up
I used the Aqua Painters to watercolor the Mallard duck. We had several of these in a low area of our field a few weeks ago but it's all dried up now so the ducks are gone.  Start with a piece of watercolor paper. Squeeze the ink pads to create a painters pallet to pick up the ink from the cover. I like to start with the mallard first, I guess he is the most fun so I jump right in. I started at the head with Garden Green, leave his collar white and add Island Indigo on his breast. On his body and wings I used a combination of Smokey Slate and Soft Suede. I always leave the beak and feet for last. Just a touch of Hello Honey finishes it off. The sky is swirls of Soft Sky and the water is Lost Lagoon starting at the horizon with the darkest color. Make a few water rings where the duck took flight. Finish off with some Chocolate Chip cattails and Wild Wasabi greens.
Wilderness Awaits

Paper measurements:
2 pieces of shimmery white 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" x 2"
2 pieces of garden green 3 5/8" x 2 5/8" and 3 5/8" x 2 1/8"
2 pieces of island indigo 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" and 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"

For my 3D project, I decided to stick with what I know and use a farm animal theme. I love making card candy. These little 2" squares are fun to arrange for a sampler, use as a center piece for a card, or as an embellishment for a scrapbook page. The Barn Babies Stamp set is perfect for a trip to the fair. Each square has three layers. The whisper white is 1 3/4", the colored square is 2" and the black layer is 2 1/4". The Little Letters Framelits worked for the words after a little thought on what I wanted for a label. I offset the Tempting Turquoise layer for a shadow effect. I found a piece of retired Designer Series Paper with a wood grain for a barn look. I will put this into a shadow box frame to finish it up but I thought it would photograph better without the glass.
