As you saw a couple days ago on the Stampin' Palooza WOW blog, the Petal Cone Die (#121810 - pg. 221 of the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog) can be very versatile. Well, I've been playing around a bit with mine, to see what sort of designs might work for my brother-in-law's upcoming wedding. His future wife was looking for something to label, and put goodies in, for the place settings of her wedding party. She loved the way the petal cone die looked as it's meant to be used, so I've been playing around with some ideas for that. Of course, her colors are hot pink and black, and I've been using some extra Pink Pirouette cardstock before I use my store of Melon Mambo that I'm trying to save up for all her upcoming wedding projects I have to complete. Here are those ideas:
I like this one - and considering she likes butterflies, I used the "Beautiful Wings" embosslit on it (#118138 - pg. 216). It still looks a little plain, so I might have to adjust something on it.
This one I like a little less. I'm not very good at ribbon tying, so I went with using the "Fun Flowers" Bigz L Die (#121812 - pg. 221) for a topper. I like that - but am not so sure about the embossing of the cone. Maybe a change in the colors would help - or even maybe layering butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit, with the "Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die" (#114507 - pg. 222), in place of the flowers on top. I'm unsure....
And then, of course, this one I showed you on the WOW - was my version of the take-out box you can make with the Petal Cone Die.
Definitely needs sprucing up a bit!....and my Basic Black ink pad needed re-inking before stamping all of this. It's ready now. :)
