Flower Fest is a fun and interesting new stamp set, that first premiered in the summer 2011 mini catalog. And of course, I just had to have it.
One of the things I like most about this festive stamp set is that it coordinates with several of our punches. And anything I don't have to hand-cut, I absolutely LOVE!
This was my first card creation with this stamp set - and I created it for my last workshop, on Saturday, 10/1/11.
It's hard to see in this scan, but I actually used Stampin' Up!'s glossy adhesive - Crystal Effects - to spice up the punched out flowers and butterfly. On this first example, I covered all three punched out pieces completely. However, in my workshop this past Saturday, the attendees thought they would try out different looks by just outlining the stamped parts in the Crystal Effects. I have to say, I liked their version better, and created all the rest of the make and takes I had leftover doing just that - outlining instead of filling in.
I kept the inside pretty simple, with plenty of room to write an extra special message to your birthday friend.
I'll try taking a picture, instead of scan, of the difference in the two cards in the future. You'll have to tell me what you prefer!
