NAC #182

This is a really simple sketch that can work with so many different images. I sure like easy! It took me a long time to order these thinlits. When I started to see pumpkins and other things made using them, I finally broke down and HAD to have them. I love the pumpkin idea. The DSP is Serene Scenery, the sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes-not sure what I will do when that set retires-and of course the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.
Your turn to post your cards over on the NAC site. Thanks for looking-

NAC#179

I got to use a few things for the first time-always fun. I loved being able to create a background using the colors in the challenge-Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, and Dapper Denim, with the Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP. I'll be using this more often. I got Pop of Paradise during the AC pre-order but never had inked it. I opted to use the sentiment from Basket For You so I could use the Bunch of Banners framelits-too lazy to fussy cut. And that's really all there is to it. I did add the Dapper Denim ribbon. Pretty simple. Hope you will try your hand at this color challenge.

NAC#178

I started out being very frustrated in doing this challenge. I began several cards, only to find I didn't have current ribbon or DSP or the right stamp. I sure don't know how people who don't have access to co-ordinating products can make cards. I finally settled on Picture Perfect and From Land to Sea, with accent help from Timeless Textures and Gorgeous Grunge. I would rather that my banner was elsewhere but I wanted to stay true to the challenge. I think it has a masculine flavor so for that, I am grateful. I am ready to move on-LOL And of course, I see an order in my future. I hope you head over to the NAC site and enter your card. Can't wait to see how easy every one makes it look!

NAC #177

This was a little hard. I needed a swimming pool or a boat-something. So, here's my summer fun. We live in the mountains and we love to sit in our screen porch and listen to the birds and watch the wildlife. I didn't even put a bird on the card-no wildlife. Oh, well, it's summer. I used the Sitting Here set with the trees from In the Meadow. I really like the Sweet Sugarplum and Smoky Slate and the Emerald Envy is growing on me. Looking forward to seeing your art work soon on the Challenge site.

NAC#176

This was a little more difficult for me. I could not picture the colors together-you have to know I'm a flower person, scene person. As I write this, I'm thinking balloons, Rose.  you could have done balloons. Oh well-it is what it is, right?! I used the Hostess set, Basket For You. I used markers to color the lined stamp, stamped the basket in Tempting Turquoise and tried to color flowers. Some-looked bad. Added the Emerald Envy, colored the basket in Pumpkin Pie and was ready to trash it! I did use water color paper-Yay! OK-one last save-spritz with water and see what happens. It blurred it just enough that I can live with it. I used the Boho Chic Embossing Folder, then stamped the greeting in Tempting Turquoise. Next, I just got my back ordered incolor ribbons. Hmmm-no Emerald Envy, but I now have two Peekaboo Peach. Yup, I did it, not SU! So, no ribbon. Still think it needs something. Stamping for me is always an adventure. It doesn't come easy, but I love it. Let's see what you can do with the color challenge this week-remember-balloons!

NAC#175

It's so nice to be doing challenges instead of having to create out of thin air. Well, at least the sketch challenges. This was pretty easy. I used the Floral Phrases set-love the reflective ability-and the Sparkle Embossing Folder, which doesn't show well in the scan, but it's there. Base card is Crumb Cake, the image is stamped in Flirty Flamingo on WW and matted on  Dapper Denim. The sentiment is also DD with Crumb Cake for the back stamped image. I put 2 small pearls in the flower centers-they aren't showing up either-sorry. And that's all there is to it.
Hope you will join us in this challenge. Looking forward to seeing what you can do.

June Nacho Blog Hop

A friend posted this picture on FB of White Sands, NM. I decided to see if I could make a card with a masculine flavor using this image as my inspiration. What do you think? Did I capture it? Here's my card:

I really had fun doing this. I have seen others be inspired by magazine ads or pictures but I had never attempted it.The challenge was to accomplish it with current stamps and colors. Actually, not too hard. I used In the Meadow for the mountains, grass and main plant and Thoughtful Banners for the Sentiment. My base card is Sahara Sand. I can't tell you all the different colors I used to achieve the look I was after, but the colors in my scan are not as vivid as the actual card-especially the greens. The back green is Garden Green and the front is Always Artichoke. Hope you are challenged to CASE something!

May Blog Hop

Well this was quite the challenge for me. The theme is Mother's Day or Graduation. My Mom passed away several years ago so I have not ordered Mother's Day sets and I have retired graduation sets but not much current. I also tried not to use anything retiring. Grateful Bunch is from the Occasions catalog and had not been used so I chose it as my set. I hope they are daisies as that is the class flower for the young lady who will receive this card. The sentiment is from the Pocketful of Cheer Paper Pumpkin. I did use Wink of Stella on the flower centers and fussy cut the border. Pretty simple and quick. Thanks for looking.

April Nacho Blog Hop

Today I have two cards for our Birthday Hop. The first one uses Going Global and has somewhat of a more masculine flair. I used the tri-corner punch and had a little trouble lining up the slot-need more practice with that one I guess, but it worked for sliding the ribbon thru. The DSP is the Typeset Specialty paper. The sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes. Here I used the Word Window Punch and the Washi Tape Punch. I used the Circle dies and the the Floral Frames dies for the focal image. The second card I made for a shoebox swap we did and just changed the sentiment-it's from Birthday Blooms. The leaf stamp is from the Reason For the Season set. The punches are the Blossom Bunch Punch (say that 3 times fast), the Pansy Punch, the Festive Flower Builder Punch and the 1/4 inch hand punch to make the dots. DSP is Botanical Gardens. Both cards are really very simple and easy to duplicate.
You may either go back to the very talented, Leilani:
