Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop - Mar 4

Today I am sharing some projects made with the Sweet Dreams Product suite.  The Sweet Dreams stamp set -(w) 137145 or (c) 138580 - has a great mix of greetings and images - love that!  I decided to create a few cards that could easily be used for something other than a 'baby card'.  There are a lot of options with this set!  I decided to go for a 'boy' style of card.  It's easy to make things for girls, but boys are a bit tricky because there is not as much for boys... this is so true for everything!

Colour Combo - Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Basic Gray.

I made this card with my son in mind :)  Blake is such a sweet boy! He is so full of affection and gentleness.  He is a beautiful ray of sunshine in our family.

I stitched around the DSP with my sewing machine and then attached it on top of Smokey Slate CS with some Dimensionals.  I distressed the edges of the DSP with my fingernail.  I find that this method is the one that I use the most to achieve this look.

I created the sun rays by cutting random sizes of CS and layering them one on top of the other in a circle.  I stapled them in the center with the Handheld Stapler.  Then I adhered the sun with glue dots and my 2 1/2" circle greeting with a Dimensional.

I used the Stampin' Write Markers to colour my stamp before stamping on the paper.  This allowed me to use multiple colours at once.
* I used the Crushed Curry Marker instead of Hello Honey because I find it to be a better match to the CS.

Next up is a couple of cards that I created for my kids.  I absolutely LOVE leaving my kids notes in their lunch/snack bags. I created a girl and boy version of my card. After all, I needed one of each! Abby and Blake are going to feel so special when they open these up :)

I layered the Sweet Dreams Washi Tape to create a base on my card. All of these colours come in one pack! Brillant!!

Next, I stamped my word bubble with the heart and quickly added some Gold Embossing Powder to the bottom and heat set it with the Heat Tool. I used the coordinating Word Bubble Framelits to cut out my image.

I was going to leave them blank... but then I decided to add a cute greeting from Cheerful Critters - (p)137932. "I like your face!" - love that saying so much!!
