We love the DuPage Children's Museum! If you have little ones, you must take them there. So many fun things for them to do, explore, and learn about!
Every time we go, I have to get a pic of them all in this chair.
This bubble in the water table is one of our very favorite things! I love throwing cups of water at them while they're under there! :)
One day this summer, I looked outside to see that Mike and the kids had dug a pit of mud back in the garden. The kids were in their bathing suits, diving right in! Take a look -
I just had to laugh when I saw them. My mom has pictures just like this of my sister and I covered in mud when we were little!
Elysia's shirt says it all - "DIRT makes me cuter"!
Thank you all for your concern and kind words! My little SuperHero is doing much better at school. No more crying!!! :) As long as I don't make him ride the kindergarten bus to get there, he is fine. He says that nothing's wrong with the bus. He just wants to be with Mommy as long as he can and if I take him, that makes more time he's still with us. So although that's 20 minutes each day that I could be doing something else, I'm okay with it. The important thing is that he's going to school happily!
My two "big" kids are in their second full week of school. It was going well until 3 days ago when Roland began crying at school while drawing a picture of his family (because he missed us). Then the bus driver told me that he cried on the bus yesterday. And today he sobbed uncontrollably and DID NOT WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL! He was kicking and screaming and just all out bawling. You can imagine my heartbreak as I turned him over to the teacher and left him to go in the building on his own. There does not seem to be any real reason he's so upset, besides just some separation anxiety. His teacher has been fantastic at communicating to me about this and has even let him hold on to a stuffed animal to make him feel better. Any suggestions out there? Anyone have this type of problem with your children? I am already dreading tomorrow because I am quite certain that it's going to happen again. :(
Here are some pics though of my "big kids" on Meet the Teacher Day and the first day of school -
Where did the summer go and why is it already back to school time? I keep telling the kids that I am going to lock the door and never let them leave. I don't want summer to be over! Here's a picture of my big school kids buying school supplies-
First of all, how precious can they be - holding hands walking into Wal-mart? Love them!
Roland's first school supplies ever!
We just returned from a fun family reunion vacation to the Ozarks. There were 27 of us from my Dad's side of the family and the kids had a great time. They especailly enjoyed an indoor waterpark we went to. Here are some pics of my little fishies enjoying the pool this summer -
